THE COLOR OF SNOW 2008

Northwest Crowfoot Light Rail Transit Station, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

6 glass IGU panels, 10’ x 6’ ; and 34 steel panels, approximately 4-6’ diameter

Architectural grade glass, laser cut galvanized steel, galvanized steel railing panels.

The Color of Snow, was inspired by the molecular structure of snow flakes and the concept that the beauty of small elements bring meaning to our daily lives. The snowflake appears against a brilliant sunset. Floating abstractions of snow are carried through six glass panels in the light rail station façade and then translated through the two bridge crossings approaching the station.

Commissioned by City of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
