ECHO 2010

Michigan State University, Brody Amphitheater, East Lansing, Michigan, USA.

16’H x 15’W x 6’D

Fabricated Aluminum, Clear Coat.

Echo, a repetition of sound produced by the reflection of sound waves from a surface, is the impetus for this work of art.  The work is inspired by the invisible sound waves that emulate from the amphitheater and reverberate onward in space.  These invisible concentric sound waves inform, bring joy and sorrow, create beauty, and touch our souls in many ways.  The semi-transparent silvery sculpture displays shifting moiré patterns interactive with the viewer.  The fabricated aluminum material is extremely durable, able to withstand extreme climate conditions.

Commissioned by Michigan State University.
